The Central Rappahannock Heritage Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Has the Records for Blacks & Whites Alike

There’s an interesting article in the May 26, 2009 edition of Fredericksburg.com about the Central Rappahannock Central Rappahannock Heritage CenterHeritage Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia – and how it serves as a repository for over “46,000 documents, photos and library books, some dating to the 1700s: marriage records, property assessments, slave receipts, letters, postcards, wills, maps, church records, board minutes, Confederate war bonds, school yearbooks, personal scrapbooks, voter registration lists, aerial photographs and family portraits.” The Heritage Center contains documents pertaining to the city of Fredericksburg, and the Virginia Commonwealth Counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford.
