We’ve long talked about posting an every-town index for the Map Guide to German Parish Registers series of 68 volumes. A while back one of our users asked us to do it. So we stopped talking about it and Dale made the index. There are over 170,000 historic towns listed in the series. Although there may be some exceptions, the listed places were all there by confederation in 1866. Some may also have come and gone by then.
Since the index is so large, we opted to break it out alphabetically, with 25 separate indexes on twenty-five GenealogyBlog.com webpages. Click on the links at the top of the page to move from one letter to another. After locating the town name of interest, click on the Title link to go to the webpage for the book where any given town might be found. Note that in many cases there are lots of places by the same name, as for years there were 39 or more separate places that eventually became Germany.
