California Supremes Uphold Proposition 8

Gay Marriage Ban -AP Video The California Supreme Court upheld a ban on same-sex marriage today, ratifying the proposition 8 decision made by California voters last November. The decision preserved the 18,000 marriages performed between the court’s May 2008 decision that same-sex marriage was lawful and the passage by voters of Proposition 8, which outlawed it.

Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts & Vermont have recently legalized gay marriage, so California voters are bucking a trend here…
