Whiteside County (Illinois) Genealogists to Publish Area History

The following excerpt is from an article in the June 23, 2012 edition of the Clinton Herald.

FULTON, Ill. — Residents of Whiteside County will get the opportunity to be a part of the area’s history with a special family history book.

Whiteside County Genealogists will sponsor, compile and publish the new book, “Whiteside County, Illinois History & Families.”

The book will include the history of the county including family histories, communities, churches, schools, businesses, farms, memorials, tributes, clubs, organizations and more. It will contain material from 1839 to 2013, with approximately 200 to 300 pages. The hardback book will be bound in burgundy with a gold stamped seal depicting the Morrison Train Depot.

Materials can be sent to Whiteside County, IL History & Families Book, P.O. Box 145, Sterling, IL 61081 or dropped off at Sterling Public Library, Genealogical Department, 102 W.
