Room Naming For the New Washington State Heritage Center

… anything to raise the needed money. Since tax revenues have plummeted in the down economy, why not allow those who have still have money to give it to the State if Washington, and have a room named after them in Washington’s new Heritage Center? Sounds like a plan to me.

The Washington State Heritage Center could end up having a Boeing archives room, Starbucks education center or Microsoft reading room under a proposal by Secretary of State Sam Reed.

Reed is pitching a naming-rights bill to the Legislature. It asks for the authority to write rules for the naming of rooms and recognizing major private donors to the project, which is scheduled for a 2012 opening on a bluff overlooking Olympia’s Capitol Lake.
