Amador County Local Newspapers 1855-2004 – Digitized & Free Online

I got a note from Marilyn Watts with a link to the digitized newspapers of Amador County, California this last week. That’s gold-rush country. I didn’t know about the site, and thank Marilyn for the link. There are a total of nine Amador County local newspapers dating from 1855 to 2004 posted at the Amador County Library website.

The Library website is found at: http://www.amadorgov.org/departments/library. About 1/3 of the way down the page is a link to Amador County Local Newspapers 1855-2004. When you click on that link, you’ll be transferred to a Digital Reel webpage where you’ll find each of the nine newspapers listed. The nine papers are:

  • AMADOR DISPATCH – 1863-1989
  • AMADOR LEDGER – 1881-1979
  • AMADOR LEDGER DISPATCH – 1989-2004
  • AMADOR PROGRESS – NEWS – 1964-1979
  • AMADOR PROGRESS NEWS AND THE IONE VALLEY ECHO – 1979-1980
  • AMADOR RECORD AND LEDGER – 1855-1986
  • IONE VALLEY ECHO – 1884-1943
  • MOTHER LODE MONITOR – 1987-1991
  • VOLCANO WEEKLY LEDGER – 1855-1858
