The Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research, in Houston, Wins Best Hospitality Project Landmark Award

As the third-largest municipal genealogical research facility in the country, each month Houston’s Clayton Library Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research hosts thousands of researchers from across the United States.

Founded in 1921, the center got its start in the Julia Ideson Building in downtown Houston with a special collection for genealogical research. In 1968, the collection was relocated to the Clayton home at 5300 Caroline St. and renamed the Clayton Library.

Because the quantity of research materials continued to grow, the Clayton Library was ready for an expansion….
