An Ancestry App for the Apple Watch

Apple-Watch-Ancestry-App-300pw

Getting an Apple Watch? Well, now you can download an Ancestry iPhone app! I have no plans to get an Apple watch, but for those of you who do, you can carry family history on your wrist – currently not a lot, but some interesting stuff.

The app allows users of the Apple watch to:

  • Get notified about “on-this-day” events in your family history (b,m,d).
  • Get notified when Ancestry finds records of a new parent, spouse, or b,m,d info missing from your Ancestry tree.
  • Review hints from Ancestry.
  • Comment by voice dictation.
  • Scroll through a feed of meaningful hints, important dates on your Ancestry tree, and comments about your stories and photos.
If a hint looks interesting, open it from your phone (if a photo hint), and save it to your tree from the Apple watch.

Download the latest version of the Ancestry iPhone app (which includes the watch app) and be will be all ready when your watch comes!
