City Creek Center Opens in Salt Lake City

City Creek Center opened in downtown Salt Lake City today. Spread over much of three blocks in the heart of the city, this shopping, condo, and office space mall (if you want to call it that) is an amazing place. The developers brought City Creek back up onto the ground level and pretty-much built a mall around it. I’ve been in a lot of shopping areas in my time – and this one’s got to be the most up-scale and user-friendly one tht I’ve ever visited.

About noon, I got my friend, Donna Potter Phillips, to go check City Creek Center out with me. This was called “research.” I figure our Salt Lake Christmas Tour folks will be spending some time at the City Creek Center, so we needed to get the facts. Following are a few pictures from opening day.

You might also want to check out the Downtown Rising website, to get an idea of what went into the construction of the 1.5 billion dollar project.
