Research Updates the Bishop Hill, Red Oak & Piatt Cemeteries in Henry County, Illinois

The following is from the September 16, 2011 edition of the Star Courier.

Bishop Hill – John Anderson, of the Bishop Hill Old Settlers Association, presented a check for $1,000 to Steve Morrison, president of the Henry County Genealogical Society, for his research to update the Bishop Hill, Red Oak and Piatt cemeteries.

Material was gathered from old city records, newspaper accounts, stone inscriptions, military records and funeral home records.

In cooperation with both organizations a new book has been published and is available from the Old Settlers Association or the HCGS.
