Manchester, Michigan District Library Gets Branch FHL Status

History buffs at the Manchester [Michigan] District Library will have a new resource to utilize come this fall.

The library has formed a partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to utilize its microfilm library of genealogical resources, said Manchester District Library director Heather Sturm.

“They have amazing resources there,” she said. “They have a very specific program to share those resources.”

The program, which the library will begin offering after Labor Day, will allow people to check out mate-rials from the main LDS library in Utah, and have them shipped to Michigan. Once a patron is finished with the materials, they are shipped back.
