Kate Middleton’s Grandfather Was a Pilot Trainer in Calgary, Canada in the Early 1940s

TORONTO — Historical records show that the grandfather of royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton had a Canadian connection.

Genealogy website Ancestry.ca says records show Peter Middleton was a flying instructor with the Royal Air Force at a Calgary flight school during the Second World War.
The school was on land that is now home to Calgary’s airport and the Aero Space Museum of Calgary.

The website says that after being posted in Canada, Middleton waited for two years before seeing military action in August 1944.
