  1. I’m also from Southern California and found tortillas in a can in Connecticut. BUT in the late 1960s even the produce manager of the grocery store didn’t know what an avocado was. When I asked him he responded, “Is it something like a guava?”
    When my husband and I travel, often our food experiences are what we talk about most after the trips. Thank you for the review of the book.
