Salt Lake Christmas Tour Week Peek #15

marcia-donna

Don’t Marcia and I look really good? Marcia and I were in the same high school graduating class back in 1961 and we have not seen each other since……… until last Saturday. I gave a presentation to the Jefferson County (WA) Gen Soc and as Marcia lives near, she came! It was just grand. Wherever did those FIFTY YEARS go???? Harriet DeWolfe from Whidbey Island was there….. anybody remember her in our tour family??

Any interesting news from any of you?? Lloyd Welker from Florida emailed to ask me if I was sick of winter yet. DUH! AM I!! I’m craving the sun……… and told him so. How about you? Got to thinking about Linda Sue Davis from Yuma, Arizona, and I’ll bet it’s nearing 100o already. I’ll trade!!

Did you read where the last surviving great-grandson of Ulysses S. Grant died in his southwest Missouri home “brimming with artifacts from the nation’s 18th president and commander of the Union forces in the Civil War.” Ulysses S. Grant VI said that his grandfather, Ulysses S. Grant V, died 2 March 2011 at age 90 in his home. “Grant V spent part of his youth in the home of his grandfather, Jesse Grant, the late president’s youngest son. Jesse Grant’s wife is credited with helping to save the artifacts.” There the article ended; I wondered what will become of that wonderful collection of artifacts??? Are you a Grant descendant???

Until next week, Donna, aka Mother Hen
