Kimberly Powell Writes About the Options for Becoming a Credentialed Genealogist

Kimberly Powell, at about.com, is going after her certification as a genealogist with the BCG. In her column of January 4, she writes about the process, and options that are available. It’s a must-read for anyone interested in genealogical certification as a professional genealogist.

I’ve submitted my preliminary application and am now officially “on the clock” for my certification Board for Certification of Genealogistsapplication with the Board for Certification of Genealogists – I have until December 2011 to get it completed and mailed in. But this is just one option for attaining credentials as an expert genealogist.
