Linn Genealogical Society Holdings Moving to New Library in Albany, Oregon

The Linn [County, Oregon] Genealogical Society will be moving their holdings there from the Linn County Courthouse to the new library during the Albany Public Librarymonth of February. Albany’s two libraries will close for about two and a half weeks next month to prepare for the opening of a new main library on March 2, 2009. the new library will be at 2450 14th Ave. S.E. in Albany.

During that time, staff will prepare for the move, ensure that the entire collection is situated where it is supposed to be once it arrives, reconnect the city’s computer network and fix any technological problems that might occur, said city spokeswoman Marilyn Smith…

Staff also will help the Friends of the Library create bookstore space in the new building and help the Linn Genealogical Society relocate its holdings there from the Linn County Courthouse.
