I did a search for the surname “Smith” (knowing I’d find lots of people) in the Eastview and Oakland Cemeteries search smithengine. I got 235 hits on the surname. See the illustration. Click on it to do your own search of that cemetery. Found the search results are the name of the deceased person, and their date of birth, death, and interment. Also found is the the exact place of the grave: section, block, lot, and grave number. Of special interest to genealogists is that the name of the funeral home is listed! Columns are found for AKA (also known as) and place of death. However, I found that that column is almost always empty of data.

  1. Thanks for the info Leland. I have several ancestors in the NW Georgia area – including Floyd County – so this could be quite useful.

  2. I’ve been told my gggrandmother is in the Eastview Cem, but you do not have her listed. Mary Elizabeth Marsh-Davis…not sure how it’s on her stone. It would be the 1950’s.

  3. Which of the cemeteries would have burials in the late 1919-1920 time frame? I’m searching for a Clemmons Milo Wilborn/Wilburn with wifes name as Annie.

  4. I am searching for a Sarah and Samuel Miller of Jewish decent. They are my wife’s grandparents. I have not been able to locate them online. Can you please provide assistance to locate their gravesites?
