Genealogy-Related Events Wanted

I am currently compiling a GenealogyBlog Genealogy Event Calendar to run continuously on the GenealogyBlog site. It’s going to be rather unique, both in layout, and “shelf-life.” I’m producing it in reverse order (events farthest in the future posted first), so that I can just let old events run off the bottom. I’m also inviting event attendees, sponsors, and coordinators to leave after-the-event commentary about how the program went.

Following is an example of how a typical event will look

October 2-3, 2009 – Neenah, Wisconsin
The Wisconsin State Genealogical Society will sponsor its annual Fall 2009 Seminar, with featured speaker, Michael John Neill. It will be held at the Best Western Bridgewood Resort Hotel & Conference Center, 1000 Cameron Way. A Friday afternoon workshop is scheduled for October 2. Send your Genealogy Events, laid out in format similar to that above to me at Lmeitzler “at” gmail.com. I invite more detail if you have it, such as lecture titles, cost, contact info. and deadlines. All email addresses will be converted to “at” in place of @ to cut email address harvesting for spam purposes. Don’t worry about duplication of something I may already have, as I will hand-post and hand-edit every entry. Please put the words Genealogy Event in the subject line of your email
