After retiring in 1995, Janey Joyce became a certified genealogist, and published “Bartlett Eaves (ca.1765-ca. 1833): His Ancestors and Descendants.” Michael Joyce said his mother moved to San Antonio to be close to her siblings…

She was active in the San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society, and edited the society’s periodical, “Our Heritage,” and 24 of the books the society has published since 1997, the obituary said.

On May 18, she received the grand prize for genealogy from the Connecticut Society of Genealogists for “The Rev. Moore Bingham (1797-1853) and His Wives, Ann Barber and Lucy Barber: Their Ancestors and Descendants,” which was about her family…
