The My Genealogy Hound website currently has over 13,000 family biographies extracted from all kinds of historic county histories – available FREE of charge. The website is sponsored by Hearthstone Legacy Publications. They publish old county histories, maps and such on CD-ROM and make them available at very nominal fees.

A total of 659 biographies were recently added for Darke County, Ohio, which was also the first Ohio County to be added to the My Genealogy Hound website. This marks the one hundredth county completed on the My Genealogy Hound website in less than one year.

The website now includes family biographies from counties in ten states:

Pennsylvania was the most recently added state. Additional counties and states are added continually with additional biographies being added every week.

The My Genealogy Hound website currently features more than 20,000 pages with more than 13,000 family biographies extracted from various County History volumes published between the 1870’s and the early 1900’s. I immediately checked out the biographies posted for Little River County, Arkansas. I was hoping that I might find one for the Daffern family who lived there. I didn’t find one for them, but did find one for Louis Walker Dollarhide – one of Bill Dollarhide’s relatives. (Click on illustration above) Searching the Surname Index, I found two more Dollarhides: W. K. Dollarhide (Sevier County, Arkansas); and William Dollarhide (Hickory County, Missouri).

I found this to be a very useful and easy-to-use website. I recommend it.
