There is a fantastic program lined up for this year’s Colorado Family History Expo August 2-3, 2013 in Colorado Springs. Exhibits open a 12 noon and at 1:00 pm things kick off with Keynote, James L. Tanner, he will share the Top 10 Techniques used for finding ancestors and other persons of interest. James has a B.A. Degree in Spanish, an M.A. Degree in Linguistics from the University of Utah, and a J.D. Degree in Law from Arizona State University. He has 37 years experience as a trial attorney in Arizona. He also has over 30 years experience in genealogical research and is the author of The Guide to FamilySearch Online. He is an avid Blogger and his genealogy blog, Genealogy’s Star is on of the top genealogy blogs in the U.S. He has been a presenter at a number of Expos and Conferences. He is the former owner of a retail computer business and Apple Macintosh software company. James is the social media coordinator at Family History Expos.

The Colorado Expo will be held at the Hotel Elegante Conference & Event Center, 2886 South Circle Drive in Colorado Springs. Registration and Exhibits open at noon on Friday. This year there is also a track of Scandinavian classes offered by well-known professionals Ruth Ellen Maness, AG and Kathy Meade.

Ruth is the Senior Research Consultant for Scandinavian Reference at the world famous Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Ruth will be available for research assistance in the Ask-the-Pros booth during breaks and when she is not presenting.

Kathy is the North American representative for ArkivDigital, a company that offers online access to color images of Swedish church books and other historical records. ArkivDigital has a booth in the vendor hall where you can get answers to your questions directly from Kathy.

Other presenters include Ruby Coleman, Carol Cooke Darrow, CG, Arlene H. Eakle, Ph.D., experts in researching U.S. records. There is a great lineup of classes for you this year.
