St. Augustine, Florida Parish Register Documents from As Early as 1594 Digitized

A group of graduate students at the University of South Florida have spent the last several months digitizing over 6000 pages of very early parish registers from St. Augustine, Florida. They date to as early as 1594 and run through the mid-1700s! Births, marriages, and deaths of some of the earliest Europeans to live in America are recorded in these documents.

Read the AP article by Tamara Lush titled “Work underway in St. Augustine to digitize 1500s records” in the March 27, 2013 edition of The St. Augustine Record for more information.
