German-Americana is a selective bibliography with over 5,300 primary and secondary sources. Sources are listed by categories and, include various media types, such as the following:

Sources are listed alphabetically, by author’s name, within each of the ten categories. Each category is a separate chapter. German-Americana was written by Don Heinrich Tolzmann. Tolzmann dedicated his professional career to the pursuit and promotion of German American studies. He recently retired as Curator of the German-Americana Collection and Director of the German-American Studies Program at the University of Cincinnati. While serving as President of the Society for German-American Studies he led the 1987 national campaign to establish October 6th as national German-American Day, earning him the title of “Father of German-American Day.”
