Stay at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel!

We are in the final stages of preparing for this year’s Salt Lake Christmas Tour. It looks like we will have about 70 attendees with us during the first full week of December. As always, we are expecting to have a good time. Our tour Polo Shirts this year will have a family tree on the back, complete with spaces to write one’s ancestor’s names!
I am again so pleased to be working with the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel. Being right next to the library is really convenient, but even more important is that the management and staff at the Plaza really do care about genealogy and genealogists. I happen to know that hotel management has “comped” many a meeting room for genealogical gatherings over the years – this done without even a room night’s stay in return. I don’t know of any other hotel that has gone out of its way to help genealogists more than the Plaza.
I’ve has the pleasure of staying at the Plaza many times over the years. Once, when our  Safari motorcoach was in the shop for extensive body repairs following the loss of a wheel and a hailstorm; Patty, Dale and I stayed at the Plaza for seven weeks – and loved every minute of it.
If you would like to research at the Family History Library, with the assistance of professional researchers, there is no better time to do it than at our annual Christmas Tour. If you just want to come to Salt Lake and research on your own, then the Plaza is a great place to stay. I personally recommend it.

  1. I stayed here and its actually a nice venue but at Christmas last year I went all the way to Ireland and Stayed at Mount Juliet – http://www.mountjuliet.ie/Christmas – I was researching my family tree and found that I had an aunt in a place called Annamult in Ireland – it turned out to be 10 minutes from my hotel… pure fluke.
