Morgan County Public Library (Martinsville, Indiana) Genealogy Section Closed Jan. 19 to Feb. 18 for Renovations

Martinsville, Indiana – Several major renovations to the main branch of the Morgan County Public Library beginning Wednesday will shift and limit the availability of several services at the library.

The $296,900 project will include roof work and renovation of the building’s heating and cooling systems, said Krista Ledbetter, director of the library. The work is being done by Hasser Construction of Indianapolis. Part of the work will include the replacement of eight furnaces with nine furnaces.

The work will begin Wednesday with work on the roof above the newer section of the library, Ledbetter said.

On Jan. 19, ceiling and lighting work will begin. The old light fixtures and ceiling grid will be replaced, Ledbetter said. The bulbs for the fixtures are no longer manufactured.

Access upstairs will be limited beginning on the Jan. 19 and continuing until Feb. 18, she said. The genealogy department will be closed during that period.
