The “Surname Suggestion List” Software

Looking for surname variations? We all know that our ancestors didn’t always spell the name the same way we do today. My own grandfather spelled his surname three different ways during his 92 years on planet Earth.

Thomas MacEntee wrote an excellent review of a nifty little piece of downloadable software for the PC titled “Surname Suggestion List.” The software was made by Matthew Combs, is free to try (make a donation if you like it) – and will not run under Mac’s OSX operating system – but for those of you who haven’t upgraded to Mac yet (grin), you might find the utility useful. (Granted, I do run Parallels on my Macs – but I just don’t like the hassle of having to use it.)
