Did anybody notice the way I spelled “peek” this time? I used the word “peak” for a reason……….. the Peak of the Week is that with so many hands working on the 1940 census indexing project I understand that it’s nearly 1/4 completed already! My little group of 31 indexers here in Spokane have (as of this morning) indexed 17,121 names in less than a month. I think that is just phenomenal. And I’ll bet YOU are helping with 1940 projects in your area. Cynthia Turk says she is “indexing her fingers off.” Gee, Cynthia, I hope not. Maybe you really meant this:
As you have indexed, have you found any funny or interesting names??? Or family groups? I’ve been doing Washington state records and it’s just fascinating to me that so many folks were born so very far away from Washington (Hungary, Belgium, Austria). We are and apparently always have been, a mobile society.
