Tom Kemp, with GenealogyBank, just sent me a list of exciting new changes that have been made to the search capabilities in the Historic Newspaper Collection at GenealogyBank.
The new search allows the following that we could not do before:
- Limit search to most recently added content
- Search multiple states at once
- Search multiple cities (Click on a state and you’ll see the list of cities)
- Search multiple titles (Click on the cities and you’ll see the list of newspapers)
- Narrow search by article types (look on the left column once you’ve done a search)
Go search for your ancestors at GenealogyBank.com.

When I read that I could limit my search to most recently added content, I couldn’t get there fast enough. But alas! I could not see a way to do so.

AHA! I found it. I went back and read the GenealogyBank blog where they post instructions for the new search. To take advantage of this — and other — new searches, you must be in the historical newspaper collection. I wouldn’t mind having this ability in the full collection, but this is the area for which I most needed it, so I am a happy camper.

I just wish my library could afford it
