We Do Our Part

February 17, 2009 – a day to remember. It was snowing in Bountiful, and I decided it was time to hang my National Recovery Act flag in the front window (unused for the last 75 years). It’s my guess that not one in 20 of my neighbors will have any idea what it’s all about…

Do you know the NRA song, too? My mother taught it to me when I was a teenager (in the 1970′s). The tune is very rousing. Here are the words I learned:
Marching along together
General Johnson here we come!
Marching along together
Watch us make the country hum!
Waving a big blue eagle,
Showing the world the way,
We mean to finish what we began in 1933.
From millionaires to forgotten men,
we’re all with Franklin D.
Oh, marching along together,
proud to be with the NRA!

Great shot, Leland. Not too many of those around any more except in museums, I would imagine. This is certainly the Roosevelt moment of our era. See you at Jamboree, Jay
