July 23, 2011 – Sumner, Washington

Heritage Quest Research Library (HQRL) will sponsor a class from 9 to 11 am on “Using Maps in Pursuit of Family History.” Dave Liesse will be giving a presentation on the use of maps in developing your family history. He’ll cover types of maps available, where they can be found, and how they can be used to best advantage. Note to South King County Genealogical Society members: although there will be a little overlap, this is NOT the same presentation you’ve seen before! Dave’s interest in maps and geography goes back to when he was a single-digit age, a natural outgrowth of his interest in airlines (which comes from being part of an airline family). He reads maps — and airline timetables — the way many of us read books, looking for all the nuances they hide. We’re all sure to find at least one useful tidbit from his presentation! Email hqrlinfo@gmail.com or call the Library fron 11-4 Tuesday thru Saturday to register. Registration recommended but not required. They need to know how many handouts to produce. HQRL is located at 1007 Main Street, Sumner, WA 98390. Phone: 253-863-1806. For more information, See: http://www.hqrl.com/eventcalendar.html
